Namaste´s Women’s Economic
Empowerment (WEE)
Education

Women in Namaste’s programs have an average of seven years of experience as business owners, but the majority join without knowing how to create a business plan, maintain a budget, pay themselves a salary, or distinguish between interest and principal.

With over 15 years of experience teaching financial literacy, we’ve witnessed thousands of marginalized women transform their lives and businesses by mastering money management. In 2023, we distilled our curriculum into a Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) video library to expand access to our training. These culturally relevant five-minute videos provide practical lessons on financial literacy, women’s rights, goal setting, business administration, and self-esteem—skills that women can immediately apply to their lives and businesses.

Our WEE videos are publicly available for free on YouTube and serve as valuable tools for our staff and mentors during in-person business advising sessions, classes, and workshops.

WEE Workshops

Our WEE workshops, led by Namaste’s exceptional community mentors—women who have experienced significant business growth through our Creating Prosperity Program (CPP)—are more than just financial literacy training. These three-hour events are safe spaces where women unite, share their stories, and tackle their biggest economic challenges together. Participants set tangible goals, receive hands-on budgeting support from mentors, and brainstorm innovative ways to save money.

These workshops do more than just plant the seeds of financial knowledge; they boost self-esteem and inspire women to envision new possibilities for their lives. As women achieve their goals, their confidence soars, enabling them to pass on financial skills to their children, invest in their families’ well-being, and become beacons of empowerment in their communities.
